Gareth Wyn is taking clubland by storm, setting dance floors alight worldwide. Mixmag Future Hero, Cream UK & Ibiza Resident, he's part of the nu breed, and his unique style combined with the ability to read and interact with the crowd is fast earning him a reputation as one of the scene's rising stars.

Gareth's production skills are also gaining serious recognition. As a DJ producer his appreciation transcends genre - signed to Paul Van Dyk's Vandit for his up tempo productions and Ministry of Sound for house, alongside recent remix projects for The Gossip, Kasabian, Junkie XL and most recently, 2008's next big thing, Duffy.

"I don't like to class myself as any particular form - I play up front dance music, a main room sound with the pre requisite of quality. This can incorporate elements of house, electro, trance, even stabs of techno - anything that makes people groove."

It all began in Ibiza, 1996. A visit to Cream at Amnesia for a live Essential Mix opened Gareth's ears to house music. Returning to the UK, he bought some turntables, ordered the track list from the live Radio 1 broadcast, and hasn't looked back.

After relocating to University in Cardiff, Gareth started guesting at bars and student parties all over the Welsh capital and hosting a weekly Friday night dance show on student station Xpress Radio. In ‘97 Gareth began running regular coach trips to Cream in Liverpool to take in the likes of Nick Warren, Paul Oakenfold and Paul Bleasdale in the infamous Courtyard. This lighted the touch paper for the future:

"The trips to Cream fuelled my passion for the scene and really influenced my musical taste. I loved the main room sounds these DJ's played, and the atmosphere their music created, they definitely motivated me to pursue things more seriously. This makes the fact that I now DJ regularly at Cream in Liverpool even more special"

Gareth combined a Law degree with staging huge dance events at the Cardiff's Student Union, part of an exploding dance scene in the Welsh capital. He soon expanded to other cities and promoted over 50 shows in Cardiff, Bristol, Worcester and London hosting tours with Serious, Slinky, Cream, the Essential Selection and Golden. Regular guests included Carl Cox, Pete Tong, Anne Savage, Fergie, Judge Jules, Yousef, The Stanton Warriors and Grooverider. As well as promoting high profile events, Gareth DJ'd at all of them playing the main room sets that developed his trademark ability to relate with the crowd:

"The punters are the most important people in any club. I always try to interact with and read the crowd as much as I can, and really use this to build the atmosphere. There is no better feeling than taking the roof off a main room, and giving the crowd exactly what they want"

Gareth was first brought to the attention of Cream when he entered the ultimate DJ competition, Muzik Magazine's search for a new Cream resident. After beating 1,000 hopefuls to the final, Gareth was awarded second place - kick starting an amazing relationship with the Liverpool institution that has seen him fast become a favourite with Cream's army of die-hard fans.

Over the last four years Gareth has gone on to play regularly for Cream across the UK, Europe and worldwide including a prestigious summer residency for Cream at Amnesia, Ibiza alongside fellow residents Tiesto and Paul van Dyk. Gareth has been recognised as Best Breakthrough DJ at the Mixmag Ibiza Dance Awards and 2008 will see Gareth return to Ibiza with Cream for the fourth consecutive year as bi-weekly resident at the mighty Amnesia:

“Cream Ibiza has been an amazing experience, playing alongside the best DJ's in the world, at arguably the best club in the world. I'm a main room DJ, and there is no better main room than Cream at Amnesia. It's a fantastic residency to have, and I've loved every minute.”

Gareth has toured worldwide, headlining massive Cream shows in Jakarta, Indonesia and Manila in the Philippines. Back in the UK, he has travelled the length and breadth of the UK, taking in Northern and Southern Ireland, Wales, Scotland and right across England, guesting at the nation's hottest clubs. Let's not forget Creamfields, Liverpool where Gareth has smashed the awesome 10,000 capacity main Cream Arena for the last three years. He's also featured as a guest presenter on Ministry of Sound worldwide radio and starred in Mixmag, DJ Mag and Pacha Magazine.

Ibiza has been the real success story, with Gareth featuring at Cream Radio 1 shows at Amnesia alongside Paul Oakenfold, Steve Angello and Groove Armada in 2006, and warming up for Sasha in the main room at the Radio 1 show in 2007.

Gareth has also recently completed the design and build of his own studio. His remix of The Gossip's ‘Standing In The Way Of Control' was one of the stand out remixes of last year and his 2008 remix of Da Hool ‘Love Parade' has just be signed to Ministry of Sound. Collaborating with Gallery resident The Viceroy has produced ‘La Galeria', a main room battle weapon recently signed personally by Paul van Dyk for Vandit Digital. Gareth has also remixed Junkie XL's new track ‘Cities in Dust', set for worldwide release in March 2008. With more high profile remixes in the pipeline and a packed UK and international diary, keep your eyes on the booth and ears to the speaker - Gareth Wyn is on fire!
